While health insurance does serve a purpose in the realm of hormone optimization it is more of a barrier to care. Strict criteria for treatment, limited formularies and outdated treatment guidelines do not make for optimization of any kind. By being a cash-based clinic, I am able to provide individualized care to a broader range of patient's using a wide variety of medications from several accredited compounding pharmacies. In fact, a large portion of my patients are referred to me by primary care providers due to identifying the need for treatment but inability to be appropriately managed due to insurance.included in the treatment.
Absolutely not. Depending on the service it is either an automatic month-to-month subscription or pay-per-product. If you are on an automatic month-to-month prescription and want to cancel just let me know and it will be stopped. I understand that life happens and sometimes funds can get tight but I will always be here if you want to restart treatment.
Absolutely! In fact, this is highly encouraged. You will be educated on the different methods of injection and shown how to do this prior to receiving your medication. Supplies will be provided and are included in the monthly subscription. If injections are something you are not comfortable with we can discuss other forms of treatment such as creams during the initial appointment.

Often referred to as "male birth control" some men are still able to have children while on TRT however due to a decrease in intratesticular testosterone while on therapy this could be problematic for most. While on TRT the normal pathways for natural testosterone production are decreased and/or stopped however once medication is discontinued these pathways start again. In short, yes TRT causes "shut down" but only while on the medication. The biggest take away from this is that your body will start to produce testosterone through the natural pathways once off of the medication. Please check out the BLOG for more information.
The short answer is "no" however when used at the level of "abuse" androgenic hormones have been shown to increase aggression. There are many factors to this and frankly the benefits far outweigh the risks when prescribed by a licensed provider. Please check out the BLOG for more information.
